Lines of research

The research group aims to address three major scientific challenges aligned with the lines of research and recommendations made by international organizations and social and educational policies to advance in the improvement of socio-educational actions with children and adolescents and their families in vulnerable situations.

Socio-educational action for children and families in vulnerable situations

Child protection

Objectives 2017-2021

Increase scientific and innovative knowledge regarding the processes of participation of children in the protection system through competitive European research.

Generate knowledge about the reality of foster care in Catalonia and other autonomous communities through research agreements with public administrations, foundations and third sector entities.

Positive parenting

Objectives 2017-2021

Consolidate competitive and international research in positive parenting and family preservation by introducing innovations in parental involvement and ongoing training of professionals.

Develop a positive parenting model for family reunification within the child protection system.

Health promotion

Objectives 2017-2021

Develop competitive research to increase knowledge about the factors that influence the promotion of mental health, the benefits of academic resilience and the role of technologies and digital resources.

Consolidate evaluative research on programs in secondary schools aimed at young people within the framework of the educational centers’ coexistence projects.
